Bogota Lab was initiated by a collective of students from New York and Bogotá after a 10-day traveling conference in the capital of Colombia. The bogotalab.com website features articles and photo reports in English and Spanish, as well as a discussion forum. The project was entirely developed by participants.

Bogotá is a laboratory for new practices in the field of Urban Planning.  The quality of life of the residents experienced a dramatic improvement in the last decade, thanks in part to a succession of enlightened mayors who prioritized the well-being of their citizens over economic growth, and to the efforts of hundreds of thousands of residents who took faith in their own hands for collectively developing and maintaining vast settlements at the city’s edge.
