Urbanology is a creative research program exploring the themes of habitat, culture and diversity in Geneva, Switzerland a unique international city, home to more than half a million people representing 189 nationalities.
Residencies, talks and informal exchanges are hosted in Geneva's international quarters - Le Jardin des Nations - at the Villa Boccard, a listed heritage building and garden designed by renowned Genevan architect Maurice Braillard in 1937.
urbanology @ the Villa Boccard is a collaboration between urbz and the Terra et Casa Foundation.

Journaliste et historienne, Joëlle Kuntz est spécialisée dans l’histoire suisse et celle de la Genève internationale. Elle a écrit plusieurs livres, dont “L’histoire suisse en un clin d’oeil” et “Genève internationale - 100 ans d’architecture”....
Summary of the urbanology talk with Stefan Kaegi (Co-Founder of Rimini Protokoll) and Caroline Barneaud (Head of International Artistic Projects at the Théâtre de Vidy, Lausanne), presenting three joint projects between Rimini Protokoll and the Théâtre Vidy: "Cargo Congo-Lausanne" - a documentary truck ride where a truck has been transformed into a moving theater, "Utopolis" - an urban immersion starting in 48 urban places where small groups are converging into a horizontally woven tale of a utopian society, and "Shared Landscapes" - an experiment in bringing theatre outside its walls and outside the city....

Vouloir isoler des éléments définissant un tiers-lieu est selon Arnaud une entreprise vaine. Une chose est claire: ce sont des espaces fragiles en constante évolution, en équilibre entre une volonté de créer une alternative aux logiques de marché et leur absorption/encaissement par ces mêmes logiques. C’est par un panorama de lieux que Arnaud nous fait sa propre définition....
