An evening with Katharina Brandl and Valentina D’Avenia, in charge of the Visual Art program at Pro Helvetia.
Since Pro Helvetia's mandate is primarily to support artists and architects with a significant supra-regional impact, the concept of locality often takes a backseat in the evaluation of its funding priorities.
However, for architecture and urban planning projects, local anchoring is often crucial. A key challenge, therefore, is how to effectively support projects with local impact objectives while navigating federal priorities.
In this discussion, Katharina and Valentina will briefly present their respective backgrounds, Pro Helvetia’s support measures, and the "Response-Ability" call for projects— a new funding initiative for emerging architects that addresses issues of locality, as well as urgency and responsibility.
